It truly amazes me that this world can get even crazier and more upside down, but it does, daily it seems. How did we end up here? How blind have we all been and for how long before the explosion of vileness took place and tore this country apart? I keep hearing people say “What will happen? What will we do?” Tend to ourselves is the $64,000 dollar answer! Saving this world depends upon each of us putting in the time and effort to heal ourselves for in doing so we are healing the world. Everything begins with us.
I think the second biggest question we need to ask ourselves is this: Am I a giver or am I a taker? Surprisingly both are necessary to keep the balance in the world, but I must say I prefer to be a giver. We need to ask ourselves who we are and be honest with ourselves when we answer, you can’t fake being somebody you aren’t. Who does the world see when they look at you and your actions or lack of actions? Are you the type of person who reaches out to help somebody else or is what you do in life for your own gain in the end? BE HONEST! When one looks at what is going on in Washington, I see a large conglomerate of people who are takers. The Givers are few and far between. It is a tragic state of affairs. This speaks volumes to where we are, at this moment in time as a society. Greed and lust for power have drowned out our capacity for compassion and caring. Everything that gets done today is for individual, personal, gain not for the good of all.
The more we isolate ourselves and withdraw into our confused, self absorbed worlds, the further away we grow from who and what we are meant to be. It is time to challenge ourselves to become a ‘Giver’ and help make the world a better place. In the end would you rather have help from a compassionate person or rely on social media to help you deal with life? If everything radically changed in the world tomorrow and it well could, who would you look to for support? If you have spent your entire life being a taker, you may well have also spent your life isolating yourself from people, perhaps judging and looking down on those less fortunate. You never know who you may need in your time of emergency. How wise was your choice in the end? Life may have been easy floating along on the backs of others, but what if that doesn’t last?
We have a choice right now which direction we will go in. It would be wise to think it through as to which way we will go and for the right reasons! It is NOT about personal gain, getting ahead of everybody else, or having the most money so you can live an elite life. That won’t get you very far if the money runs out and there is no one around to reach out to. If you think that can never happen to you, think again. All the turmoil going on in the world today should tell you can’t rely on anything except yourself! If you are not connected to a strong foundation, you have nothing to give you stability. Take this time to decide who you are, which category you belong in and if you need to rethink the direction you are traveling in, get courageous and switch paths!
FYI….If you wonder how to go about making change in your life, may I suggest a fabulous book that will lay it all out for you!
Blessings and love ❤
